I must get better at this blogging on a regular basis thing. I’m thinking about starting regular days for certain subjects – more soon – School, work, and running and then finally spending some time with Joe in the evenings are taking up my time lately. I wasn’t even knitting until recently – for like two weeks! No wonder I didn’t feel like blogging. But now school and work stress be gone – I’m on Spring Break!
I decided I wanted a cozy sweater and just so happened to have a ton of black (acrylic – dont’ shoot me down, I’ll still look damn good in it! hehe) yarn from the Caron One pound beast I bought a million years ago. Ok, maybe just two. But it called to me – “Make me into a sweater!” It said. And so Kim Hargreaves’ Magnolia (Ravelry link) began. I got so excited to hit the Cast On button in my Ravelry queue! Which only keeps getting longer…
It’s knitting up really quickly :) I’ll be done with it before the week is out. (Anyone placing bets on that? ha)
RUN run run!
In other news, I have been RUNNING LONG. I had a 10 miler two weekends ago and Johanna and I ran it outside! It was 44 degrees (=warm), the sun was out, and we were feelin good. The way home got very cold and windy and I think I was a little colder than I should have been… er… yyeah. Not good. I was dressed for a cold day in San Diego, not Alaska. Johanna let me wear her fleece vest for the last couple miles – I was shutting down and my hands and arms were frozen stiff. It took awhile for me to warm up. So that 10 miler didn’t feel so good.
But then the next week I ran 7 miles and then 13 miles and it was wonderful! Despite the fact that it was all done inside on the gym’s 14 lap/mile track. I felt strong and energetic. I finished it in 2 1/2 hours.
This week I have 7 miles mid week and 10 miles over the weekend again. We’ll see if either of them get to be outside. I think 13 miles is the max I can do inside because the constant turning the corners starts to wear on my ankles.
Can I bombard you with more information? Is it ok to make up for lost time? Are you bored yet? How about some weaving pictures?
Another cedar basket, but with a bit more skill. I made this over a month or more, can’t remember. This takes a lot longer than one would suspect. It’s so tiny right? Should take like a week? – Well maybe it would if I could work more than 2 hours at a time :) Woo so proud of this thing.
(Come on in! The water’s ….. frozen)
But then little spots like this remind you that stuff is trying to grow!
And how could I resist a shot with the Koolhaas hat? I wear it everyday now. And – whoosh! – time warp! The hats on Joe are my very first hats (and knitted FOs) I ever made (red one inside a black one) – way back in 2004. :)
We may not see the end of snow before we leave in May. :( Someday we’ll come back up for the Spring and Summer too.
