I’m paying homage to Brianylady’s blog post that I loved.
Elements of a good Saturday:
Oatmeal muffin and juice. 14 kinda crappy and really slow miles followed by 9 fast and amazing miles = a surprisingly awesome 23 mile run (negative splits baby!!). Two chocolate chip cookies and a 2 mile cool down walk holding hands with my very supportive husband. A long hot shower. An anti-inflammatory ice bath for swollen leg joints. 45 minutes of totally zonked out napping. 1 1/2 hours drive to Portland, OR. Thai food with pink chopsticks. Cafe Americano with soy milk and two splendas in a tea cup and saucer, not in a to-go cup, for once. Seeing a play with one of our best friends in it. A game of Settlers of Catan. Sleeping on our old comfy futon.
Sorry I haven’t been updating so frequently. We’re in Oregon sorting through and getting rid of stuff in our storage unit and spending lots of time with family and friends this week. I’m only knitting secret projects right now – so no bloggy with those. But in a couple weeks I’ll be starting on something I’ll definitely blog about :)
For those interested — the Obama rally was great. He’s an inspiring guy. I liked his speech, but I really liked the town hall Q&A afterward where he explained his policy a little more in detail. One thing I’m intrigued by is that he has run a clean race, focusing on his proposed policies instead of mudslinging. When he spoke about McCain (he didn’t mention Hillary at all) he only spoke about politics. Not McCain’s personal life. It’s refreshing. He seems respectful, genuine, and trustworthy. And though I’m independent, I agree with just about every darn thing he’s proposing. — Oh yeah, and my pictures turned out to e total blurry crap. We were kind of far back in a florescent lit space. My poor little “point and shoot” camera wasn’t up to the challenge. Ah well.
Eat. Knit. RUN. BLOG.
