Staci at Verypink.com

I have been following this particular blog for a few years now. I don’t know if I have ever commented on her page –  I know ::Jenny’s a lurker:: – but I have thoroughly enjoyed her blog and thought I’d share it with you.

Meet Staci. She lives in Austin, TX and is an avid knitter who actually uses a sewing manniquin (me=jealous) that she has named “Anne Boleyn ([her] headless knitwear stunt-double).” Fun facts about Staci: she teaches knitting, has a needles on fire tattoo, has 3 (sometimes more) Basenji dogs, and is a really creative photographer.

The pictures she posts of her projects are what keep me wanting more.

My favorite project of hers has been her participation in the 365 Self Portraits. This is something I’ve wanted to do for awhile but, knowing me, I’d probably drop it after the first month. In any case, her self portraits are fun and colorful – which obviously attracts my attention. Anything does that’s colorful or shiny, really…

Also, I’m a big fan of anyone who fosters/ rescues dogs. If you haven’t already, check out her site because she’s one of those smart and hilarious bloggers that keep your attention. I look forward to her posts in my little Google Reader page :)

Staci, you rock! Keep on bloggin’!

Love, Jenny

Megan Fox as Buffy?

Copy – That’s a big negative – Over.

Or should I just say: NO NO NO NO NO!

It’s sometimes rather embarrassing, but I’m usually out of the “widely known information” loop because: a) I don’t watch the news, and b) I don’t read news too often on the internet unless it’s huge. This rumor happens to be from June 2009, but I have to post on it just incase my two cents gets taken into account for the final decision. Because I’m obviously very important…

The rumors floating around are that Megan Fox (trashy, sexy, purportedly kinda dumb and a raging bi-atch) is being looked at for the role of Buffy in a remake that is possibly in pre-production. That’s a lot of “maybe” written all over this thing.

Reasons why I think this is a bad bad idea:

1. The articles all mention that Joss Whedon will not be a part of it – One reason why I won’t have anything to do with it. Joss Whedon = god, in the case of Buffy

2. Neither will the original cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (tv series) be part of it – In a charactr driven show, the chemistry of the actors and how they made the writing come alive are not mutually exclusive.

3. It’s supposed to be a remake of the cheesy film that came out prior to the masterpiece of television that was the show (All seven seasons, more notably seasons 3 and 4, and the musical episode in season 6) – I’ve come to accept the goofy film out of my love for the show, but I’m not willing to stretch any further than that.

4. I hate Megan Fox. She is a body that can says a few lines (badly) and men line up and drool over her barely legal ass – which is always in plain sight because 80% of her shots are of her bending over. THAT is not MY Buffy.

Thus concludes my rant. Fellow Buffy fans, FIGHT!

Pediatricians Rock!

Breaking news! My very good friend just announced that she got into UW Med School!! That was her first choice school and I’m so proud of her I had to share it with you all as well!

There is a lot to be said for choosing to go through the hardship of becoming a doctor, let alone BEING a doctor. I’m impressed at the dedication people have toward their profession because it’s no cakewalk. My friend has chosen to become a pediatrician. She’s great with kids and I know she’s going to be a great doc. I remember my pediatrician when I was a kid. He gave me a lollipop every time. I had a ton of ear infections as a kid, but I always knew my doc was going to be nice and not make it hurt too much :) It takes a special breed to work with kids.

I was jumping around in my seat earlier, I’m so happy for her. If you all know a doc or someone who is studying to be a doctor, treat them well and tell them how much you appreciate them because they could save your life someday. Or at least make you feel better :P

Soccer is Hard

But guess who scored a goal in soccer last night?!…. Me!

And it wasn’t a garbage goal either. A garbage goal is when you happen to be standing next to the goal and either someone bounces it off you into the goal, you bounce it off the other team, or anything really close up and basically lacking skill. But no, I was completely open, I got control of the ball and took it up to the goal. The goalie came out of the box to get me, I timed it right, and shot the ball! I actually faked him out like I was going right, then shot left and arched it over his head!

I couldn’t believe it went in. It was an honest to god goal :)

Oh and I had two assists as well. EN FUEGO!

By the end of the game I was dying and out of breath but I felt strong. After the game I was telling my teammates how I feel like my core and balance are really a lot better and wondered if it was the Wii Fit helping me out. Then they said, “Thank you, Wii Fit!”

So yes, thank you Wii Fit!
